ANN ARBOR, MI – At 3:30am on November 9th, less than an hour after Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States, University of Michigan students took to the Diag and the Undergraduate Library to voice their grievances. Some students carried candles while others’ protests were less peaceful.
In Defense of Street Preachers
Why do we pretend that God is not real? And that if he is, that He doesn’t care about us? Why do we fool ourselves into believing that the cavernous longing we experience, bordering on unbearable, our intense yearning for perfect truth, goodness, and beauty, are mere quirks in our psychological make-up, rather “signposts,” pointing us to the Divine?
The Diag: Through Wind and Rain, The Million Student March
Whilst walking in circles and holding signs, protesters chanted such spirited remarks as:
“Hey, hey, ho, ho, tuition fees have got to go!”
“Money for jobs and education, not for war and occupation!”
And my personal favorite, “Education is a right, not just for the rich and white!”
Pro-Life, Dead on the Diag
In my three hours on the Diag, I did not come across a single person who was pro-life, in the traditional sense.
