People in this bubble severely underestimated how tired ordinary Americans were of unchecked immigration, an economy stacked against average folks, and the quasi-religion of political correctness—and thus how very little the numerous attacks thrown at Trump would matter, since he was channeling deep and valid frustrations long ignored, as well as offering himself as a proverbial megaphone for voters long scorned.
It is far too late to backtrack and attempt to reach an understanding, as Donald Trump pulled off the greatest political upset in recent history. But cancel your ticket to Canada, because Trump and his supporters are not monsters. They are real people with conscience and intelligence. In these final few days, I urge everyone, especially conservatives, to vote mindfully, to give careful thought to each candidate, and choose someone who is morally palatable. After a year filled with infantile insults, petty disputes, and mean-spirited political banter—all of which have severely degraded the American political process—the countdown to Election Day is nearly […]
From my perspective, Trump missed a massive opportunity to reintroduce himself to the voters as someone they can trust as President.
While condemning racism and discrimination ought to be the steadfast position of any university administration, the phrasing used by University administrators suggests administrative approval for removal of posters and other signs that students dislike or find offensive. Even such tacit approval of censorship is contrary to the very idea of freedom of speech. On Monday, […]
When placed side by side gun control and transgender bathroom rights challenge traditional left-right conceptions of freedom. Clearly, these issues are not comparable in terms of their implications: enacting stricter […]
