The University of Michigan continued to struggle with its official position on sexuality, snow and freedom of expression when a Hall Director reported a giant snow penis as a bias-incident. Apparently the confluence of these three much discussed topics was too much to go undocumented.
For those open to challenging ideas, Milo and Julie proved worthy opponents, both consistently drawing applause and questioning the assumptions of the audience. Challenging the accepted way of thinking should not be approached with scornful or condescending disdain, but with a desire to engage and challenge the dissenting opinion.
Censorship was the policy of East Berlin. Even 26 years later, that freedom from censorship is still worth fighting for should be obvious.
